I struggled with leadership from the beginning of my career. I was employee #40 at Zappos.com
back in 2004. We were a small start-up, and we were all learning as we went. I had never really led a
team before and as we started to go through hyper-growth, I was thrust into leading large teams for
the first time.
I struggled with motivating and inspiring my team. I didn't know how to set expectations and measure
results. It was then that I decided to really invest in my leadership skills.
